- AARP Community Challenge Grant. This annual grant focuses on quick-action projects that make communities more livable and spark long-term change. Due March 4.
- Land and Water Conservation Fund. Federally-funded program that provides 50% matching funds for outdoor recreation area development and acquisition. Popular projects in recent years have included skate parks, playgrounds, new and renovated swimming pools, campgrounds and multipurpose trails. Due March 6.
- Rural Iowa Heritage Revitalization Grant. Nonprofits, local governments and tribal councils are invited to apply for the Iowa Rural Heritage Revitalization Grant. These federally funded awards, ranging from $75,000 to $150,000, will support the rehabilitation of historic properties in rural Iowa. Due March 6, 2026.
- Foundation for the Future of Delaware County Grants. Each year the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County accepts applications for grants for community development, community promotions, community education and similar matters. Due March 11.
- RPA Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). Federal funding program that supports smaller-scale community focused transportation projects that improve safety, accessibility, and quality of life for cities, counties, local or regional governments, transit agencies, tribal governments, school districts, and nonprofits, among others. Eligible projects include smaller-scale transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities and recreational trails. Due 5:00 PM, March 11.
- Small City Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG). A federal funding set-aside for small cities that supports a wide range of transportation projects for cities in the RPA 8 area with populations under 5,000. Eligible projects include roadway and bridge improvements, safety enhancements, and transit capital projects, among others. Due 5:00 PM, March 11.
- Keep America Beautiful - Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Corridor Community Grants. These grants empower communities to revitalize, beautify, and transform areas within and surrounding Martin Luther King Jr. corridors and neighborhoods. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on March 16, 2026.
- Rural County Transportation Program (RCTP). RCTP are county-led grant programs that provide funding to small cities to help implement non-federal aid transportation projects for cities in Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, and Jackson counties with populations under 5,000. Eligible projects include transportation-related construction projects, including roadway resurfacing, restoration, and reconstruction; accessibility improvements; and safety upgrades. Due 5:00 PM, March 19.
- The Keep America Beautiful Cigarette Litter Prevention & Recycling Program helps reduce litter in American communities by collecting cigarette waste from public spaces and waterways and recycling it. Apply. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on March 30, 2026.
- T-Mobile Hometown Grants - Funding will transform projects in hundreds of communities through park revitalization, upgraded technology, public safety support, expanded access, and so much more. Each grant of up to $50,000 will jumpstart local projects and create lasting impacts. Due March 31, 2026.
