Through its Community Development Department, ECIA assists local governments obtain grants and loans through federal and state agencies. These funds are critical to funding projects such as water, wastewater, and storm sewer systems, housing rehabilitation, homeownership assistance programs, community facilities and services projects, streets and curb/gutter, recreational facilities, libraries, group homes, daycare facilities and imminent threat and/or emergency projects.
Another resource for communities and non-profits for special projects that may require various funding sources and processes is the Project Funding and Organizational Development. Created in 2013, the purpose of this program is to assist local governments and their local non-profit community groups in the ECIA region to plan efficiently and find money for their priority projects at an affordable price through fundraising, grant writing and research, grant review, and grant administration.
